A Rare Copy Of Prince's Unreleased 'Camille' LP Is Now Up For Auction

Collection Of Prince Rarities Goes To Auction, Includes Copy Of Unreleased 'Camille' LP

At the top of the summer a terribly rare promo-only copy of Prince's The Black Album destroyed Discogs' record for highest sales total, topping out at $15,000. Now another rarity from the late icon (recorded right around the same time as the last) is headed to auction, and it could go for an even gaudier price tag.

The collection of Karen Krattinger (assistant and road manager to Prince & The Revolution from 1984-1989) has been listed on RR Auction, and amongst its copious oddities (custom canes, afterparty invitations and a voodoo doll to start) lies a copy of the unreleased 1986 album, Camille. The album was scrapped just weeks before its intended release, which was to be done under the alter-ego name without the mention or image of Prince. Many of the songs were released in some form another with the exception of "Rebirth Of The Flesh," though it didn't take much to find it on YouTube (hear it below.)

The lot's strangeness alone should hike that bid up to one-percenter heights , but if you've got the roll for it, you can put your in by following the link.
