Common x Blaqstarr- "Dear Diamond" [Official Video]
Baltimore Club champion Blaqstarr drops the dreamscape visuals for his Common assisted pop-ballad "Dear Diamond." The track's piano based foundation and anthemic vocals stand in direct contrast to what we've come to expect from Blaqstarr, whose "Spongebob" inducing madness is now a trademark of the Charm City's now widely pervasive brand of frantic funk. While it marks a change of tone --certainly not of pace-- it also marks yet another instance of Common's recall to soulful rhyme-play; a return to form from the neo-soul luminary, following up last week's collab with No ID and Ab-Soul. While this maybe a one-off for the lover in ya, Blaqstarr recently had a compilation of his older, most coveted material released via Mad Decent. Its a treat ripe for your workout mix, or just to satiate your pallet for that grimy and infectious Baltimore Club. You can watch the visuals for "Dear Diamond" below, but be sure to catch The Blaq Files comp over at THE FADER.
