Common & Ice Cube Link Up For The Bouncy "Real People"

Well this sure is a pleasant surprise. Despite their sometimes-ferocious 90s beef, Ice Cube and Common have joined forces for the infectious new joint "Real People," which appears on the film soundtrack for Barbershop: The Next Cut Honestly, it makes perfect sense: both Common and Cube star in the upcoming flick, and have so much MC talent to spare that it's a wonder they haven't collaborated more already.

“We used to fight and fuss, we used to yell and cuss,” Cube emotes during the song's opening. “We used to cock and bus, now look at us.” Common brings positivity of his own, rapping rapid-fire over the uptempo strutting beat. "It's a good day when it's me and O'Shea, it's like the times we cheered for OJ...Ain't no more beef, I put that on chief." The MC prepares to tell tales of street murders and jail time, clearly not interested in resting on the humorous kick-back of Barbershop but instead delivering more of the social commentary we know and love him for.

Listen to "Real People" below and get ready for Barbershop 3 to hit theaters on April 16th. Fingers crossed for Common and Ice Cube to keep a good thing going and collaborate on future joints. This one might be made-just-for-the-movie, but it most definitely goes.
