Keri Hilson & Others Are Spreading Conspiracy Theories That 5G Is The Cause Of Coronavirus
Keri Hilson made the argument that 5G networks could be causing the coronavirus pandemic occurring throughout the world, on her Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Keri Hilson seems to believe that 5G networks are to blame for the COVID-19, commonly known as the 2019 coronavirus disease.

On Sunday night, Hilson took to Twitter where she initially implied that radiation from 5G — the next generation wireless network technology that will succeed 4G — is playing a part in the coronavirus pandemic occurring throughout the world.
"And to be clear, I'm saying there have been lots of studies & experiments that point to the possibility that the dangerous levels of electromagnetic radiation (5G) could be CAUSING the contagious virus," Hilson also tweeted.
On her Instagram she also shared a video of Thomas Cowan, a holistic physician who was speaking on the coronavirus and their claims that "in every pandemic in the last 150 years, there was a quantum leap in the electrification of the earth."
Certain websites have already fact checked the claim that the new coronavirus is a result of 5G exposure. Responding to a Facebook post claiming that coronavirus is not a virus but a cover up for the damage 5G exposure can cause, UK fact checking charity FullFact.org wrote:
As we’ve written about before, there is no evidence that 5G is harmful to humans. 5G is the next generation of wireless network technology, following on from 4G. Like 4G, 3G and 2G before it, 5G mobile data is transmitted over radio waves—a small part of the whole electromagnetic spectrum (which includes microwaves, visible light and X-rays). These radio waves are non-ionising, meaning they don’t damage the DNA inside cells.Public Health England has said that there’s no “convincing evidence” that exposure below the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation guidelines can cause adverse health effects. These guidelines go up to 300GHz, whereas the maximum for 5G will probably only be in the tens of GHz.
And regardless, the claimed symptoms of 5G exposure shown don’t match the symptoms of the new coronavirus. The post claims that symptoms of 5G exposure include nausea, hair loss and bone marrow damage but the symptoms of Covid-19 include fever and coughing. Other symptoms include shortness of breath, aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea.
A number of people have reacted to Hilson's social media posts on the topic.
Hilson has since deleted her posts on both Twitter and Instagram, tweeting that her management told her to delete the posts.
