Dame Dash Credits Himself for Kanye and Kevin Hart's Careers in New Court Docs

Dame is dropping names.

Damon Dash is involved in a new lawsuit. According to a report in The Blast first, a New York federal judge ordered a temporary injunction against Dash as part of a lawsuit over Dear Frank, a film he worked on.

After being dismissed from the movie, Dame made his case, listing his involvement in launching the careers of Kanye West and Kevin Hart, in an effort to make a case for his role in the film.

In new court documents obtained by The Blast, Dash explained his background in the film and entertainment community, including how he co-founded Roc-A-Fella with Jay-Z, signed Kanye, and "put Kevin Hart in one of his first feature films."

The film's director Josh Webber and Muddy Water Pictures and their attorney Christopher Brown, sued Dash accusing him of publicly claiming he was a part of “Dear Frank,” after being dropped from the film.

They'd reportedly been working on the movie since 2016.  Webber accused Dash, who was set to direct, of being high on set and removed him in 2018 before the film was finished.

The director also claimed Dash was sending out promo material for a film called The List (Dear Frank's original title) to BET and made it appear he was still working on it.

Webber sued for defamation and copyright infringement.
