De La Soul & Nas Connect On The Hard-Knocking Loosie "God It"

De La Soul & Nas Link On New Loosie "God It"

New York stand up! Queensbridge and Strong Island connect as De La Soul and Nas relinquish the loose new joint "God It." By loose, of course, I mean this track will be omitted from their forthcoming crowdfunded record, which saw its goal met in less than 24 hours and with 10 days still to go, has accrued nearly half of a million dollars. With that kind of love being show it seems only right that they celebrate the success of the initiative with some new heat. Enter: NaS.

"God It" is a recall to early-'90s blappers AKA primetime for The Daisy Aged trio and The Nasty One, each delivering a slice of their hallmark deliveries over a beat that could be out of Preemo's boom-bap catalogue, but is likely (?) either Dove or Maseo flipping some Screamin' Jay Hawkins-era rhythm & blues. This is like one of those dreams-really-do-come-true moments in the Okay realm, where legends collide and we reap the rewards. So briefly scan through De La's brief accompanying statement below and then quickly put your ears to De La Soul & Nas' legendary link-up "God It" and keep you ear to the ground as we continue to fantasize over a new De La Soul album on its way.

"While busy at work, we also like to play! This song is not from the new album, but an indication of the good music to come... Just a little appetizer until we complete the main course. You may recognize our featured guest. Enjoy."
