Detective Testifies Tory Lanez Yelled "Dance Bitch" Before Shooting Megan Thee Stallion
Tory Lanez is currently facing two felony charges: assault with a semiautomatic firearm and one count of carrying an unregistered gun in a vehicle. He is facing up to 22 years in prison if convicted.
A Los Angeles Police officer testified on Tuesday (December 14th) that Tory Lanez shouted "Dance bitch, dance!" before shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot last year.
According to Rolling Stone, Detective Ryan Stogner made the claim — which was first reported by Complex last year — at Lanez’s preliminary hearing in his felony assault case in Los Angeles. The hearing was to determine if the case will go to trial. Stogner, who based his testimony off of interviews with Megan Thee Stallion, said that Lanez was also visibly intoxicated. He said:
“(Megan) observed Mr. Peterson holding a firearm and then she observed him start to shoot... Megan immediately felt pain to her feet, observed blood, fell to the ground, and then crawled to an adjacent driveway of a residence…She described her injuries as bleeding profusely.”
Stogner also testified that after the shooting Tory tried to apologize and get Meg not to make the incident public (Last November, Megan publicly stated the rapper attempted to pay her and a friend to keep quiet about the incident.) Stonger said:
“Megan stated the defendant apologized for doing it and offered her money and begged her to please not say anything and made a reference to the fact he was already on probation and he begged her not to say anything.”
The incident occurred on July 12th 2020 after a party at Kyler Jenner's house. A month after the incident Megan gave a full rundown of what happened during an Instagram Live session.. Meg said there were four people in the car: she was sitting in the front, next to Tory. Her friend, Kelsey Nicole, was in the back next to his security. An argument broke out and, according to her, she left the vehicle. As she was leaving, she said, Torry shot her. She claims he shot her for no reason.
She said:
“Yes, this nigga Tory shot me. You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs, lying and shit…Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you’re dragging it."

Lanez (whose real name is Daystar Peterson) has maintained his innocence. And after the reports were leaked on Tuesday, Lanez went to Twitter to defend himself:
According to Variety, Lanez's lawyer Shawn Holley asked Stonger about Meg's own sobriety that night. Holley and Stonger had the following exchange:
“You never asked Megan how much she had to drink that day, did you?” Holley asked.
“Not specifically, no,” Stogner said.
“But you are aware alcohol can impair a person’s perception and their ability to recall?” Holley asked.
