DJ /rupture Releasing album as Jace Clayton

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

DJ /rupture, the pseudonym of DJ and producer Jace Clayton, has been active in combining drum & bass, hip-hop, and other electronica genres since the 90's. His newest album, however, will be a Jace Clayton release, not to be associated with "DJ /rupture." The Julius Eastman Memory Depot will be released on March 26th and is based around the life and work of Julius Eastman, the late African-American composer and dancer. The record was recorded with pianists David Friend and Emily Manzo and includes interpretations of Eastman piano works as well as one original song. Speaking on the album, Clayton said:

"I interpret the open-ended, irreverent nature of Julius Eastman’s legacy as a call to conversation...reverence can be a form of forgetting."
