Donald Glover Accepts Questlove's Praises, Explains Why New LP "Wasn't A Lot Of Fun To Make"
"I like sucker punches"
Last week, Donald Glover released his third studio album "Awaken, My Love!". For the most part, reception has been damn good, with most ears embracing this new side of the multifaceted star of the screen and stage. Others have been turned off. But one newfound fan, Questlove, sang his praises for the album that made him call D'Angelo at 4am to let him know they'd been challenged.
Questo expressed astonishment. Like "someone sucker punched me," he told his following in a gushing Instagram post. Now, Australia's triple j has published their interview with Glover, where the dynamo humbly accepted Questlove's praises and delivered his first post-release interview, speaking to his recording process and how the new album "wasn't a lot of fun to make." He goes on to explain:
"I was going through a lot, and I also think in America we’re going through a lot right now, with everything that’s going on."
