Eminem promises to take it back to the real with the announcement of the Marshall Mathers LP 2. The announcement ran during commercial breaks for the MTV Video Music Awards this past weekend in relatively vague type during a Beats By Dre headphone ad; the announcement read "EMINEM" "MMLP2" "11/5/13." The project coming in early November follows the Marshall Mathers LP, released in 2000. This LP will be produced by Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin - the man of the hour following his recent resurgence as the zen master behind Kanye West's Yeezus and the icon on the sofa in the Samsung ads for Magna Carta Holy Grail. A mentor and mastermind since the beginning, it'll be interesting to see him paired with Dr. Dre for executive production of the project from the real Slim Shady. The ad was bolstered by a teaser of Eminem's new single "Berzerk" - a track featuring Eminem's relentless flow over a RUN-D.M.C. revival track - which drops tomorrow. No word yet on when there will be more from Marshal Mathers 2. Check the track preview below. Look out for the full joint tomorrow.
