Erykah Badu has announced a world tour.
Titled the "Badu Vs. Everythang Tour 2017 A.D." the tour will begin this month at Birmingham, Alabama's Funk Fest, and end with a series of performances in Japan. In between that, the artist will make stops at the Meadows Music and Arts Festival in New York City, as well as this year's Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland.
Okayplayer was in attendance for Badu's Baduizm B-Day Party that happened a couple months back in the singer's hometown Dallas, Texas. Aside from a performance by Badu herself, the event included appearances from Dave Chappelle and Cedric The Entertainer.
The event was not only in honor of Badu turning 46 years-old but for her Baduizm album, which turned 20 years-old this year. Here was one of many notable moments that occurred during the show:
"Badu's hairstylist of five years stood next to me. She revealed to me about the Badu wonder: 'She's real, she is who she is. She's opened my eyes up.' It's a sentiment we also have as fans, even if we don't know her personally, it feels like an experience of our own. I quickly realized Sunday night Baduizm has lifted all of us."
She also made an appearance at this year's SXSW in Austin, Texas, performing as DJ Low Down Loretta Brown for show that was headlined by the Wu-Tang Clan.
Check out Badu's itinerary below and see if she making a stop in a city near you.
