Red Bull Music Academy is celebrating the launch of their 15th annual academy in New York City with a series of events beginning on April 28th. The series - billed as 236 artists, 34 nights, 8000 anthems, 1 city - features performances from Erykah Badu aka DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown, Brian Eno and his critically acclaimed audio visual installation 77 Million Paintings, Giorgio Moroder, Masters At Work, Ryuichi Sakamoto, FourTet, Skream and more. The globe-trotting academy will run from April 28th to May 31st with corresponding events and performances all over the city, including the Red Bull Music Academy Culture Clash, DFA Records 12th Anniversary Celebration, Drone Activity In Progress and United States of Bass which will bring together bass music pioneers from Afrika Bambaataa to DJ Magic Mike and Big Freedia for one wig-splitting live action 808 free-for-all. Tickets for the events will be available on March 4th.
