Esperanza Spalding Announces New Project 'Emily's D+Evolution' + European Tour Dates

Genre-defying bassist/vocalist/arranger Esperanza Spalding has just announced a new project for 2015. Emily's D+Evolution has been teased in live performances earlier this year, but it appears that a full-fledged album is on the way from Spalding, with a live and direct debut planned for October 22nd at The Brooklyn Academy of Music's Howard Gilman Opera House, performing the new single "One," which will be available to purchase immediately following the performance. What's more, though no date has been set for the album's release just yet, Spalding will embark on an extensive European tour that jumpstarts in Tbilisi, Georgia on October 25th and will find her gracing stages in France, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, the UK and more.
