Expansions Collective drops the Expansion Sound Vol. 1 compilation - a 30-track release celebrating their musical relaunch with features from Kissey Asplund, Mecca:83, DistantStarr, Wes Pendleton, Amin Payne, Spinnerty and Buscrates 16-Bit Ensemble. The project boasts a healthy mix of hip-hop, future soul and instrumental music that will reel you in immediately with infectious melodies, super fat synths, heavy percussion and a flair for the experimental. While the release is packed to the gills with jams, it is pretty evident that each of these tracks was carefully chosen by a crew of tastemakers intent to destroy and rebuild the average listener's musical sensibilities. Expansion Sound Vol. 1 is available for purchase as a digital download or limited edition cassette, with physical copies shipping next month. Proceeds from sales of the project will be donated to Buscrates 16-Bit Ensemble to help with the cost of medical bills following a recent accident; Buscrates was struck by a motorist while riding his bike in Atlanta.
