First Look Friday: Lucki Eck$ - "Want More" Stream + "Love It" Video
Chi-town MC Lucki Eck$ is this week's Friday First Look feature, proving Chicago is quickly becoming the contemporary equivalent to New York in the 90's with its slew of young talented emcees. Lucki's brand of lagging rhyme-saying embellishes the space in his production and allows listeners to have a decisive understanding of what he is actually talking about. Its a welcome change for those slow to comprehend the machine-gun patter that's become emblematic of contemporary rap. There is no greater testament to these sentiments than his recently dropped "Want More" which is the epitome of his "alternative trap" sensibilities; a slow, almost crawling, beat laden with muffled synthesizers and a washed-out drum track, over which Lucki accents every hit with his creeping delivery.
