Speaking with The Guardian, Flav clarified that the dispute between him and Chuck D wasn't because of Sanders but because Chuck included him in plans for a performance he hadn't agreed to.

"Why try to say I'm a part of something I'm not a part of? That was all Chuck D," said Flav.said.

The hypeman and reality TV star also said that he doesn't have anything against Sanders, stating: "I think he's a good person and I wish him luck."

"I think they're all good people," he added. "Except Trump. Some people tried to say I did this because I'm a Trump supporter and that's not true. Fuck Trump!"

On Friday (February 28), Flav a cease and desist order against the Sanders campaign for the use of Public Enemy's name and likeness in the promo for a rally at the Los Angeles Convention Center. In the letter, Flav's lawyer Matthew Friedman said Flav hadn't "endorsed any political candidate," and that they were using his "unauthorized likeness, image and trademarked clock" to promote the rally.

In response, Chuck D offered a statement, saying: "Flavor chooses to dance for his money and not do benevolent work like this…He has a year to get his act together and get himself straight or he's out."

Following that, Chuck fired Flav from Public Enemy.
