Francis & The Lights Return w/ Striking New Video For "Friends" ft. Kanye West & Bon Iver
If you've hawked either Chance The Rapper or Francis Starlite's Twitter feeds over the last few days, you must have known something was afoot, each dropping notes on the imminent arrival of a #friendsvideo. The easiest, most logical assumption here is that a visual treatment was on the way for Chano and Francis' somber Coloring Book collaboration, "Summer Friends." But moments ago we learned that Chano doesn't appear to have anything do with the much-anticipated video (well, at least this video) as Francis unveiled a strikingly beautiful treatment for the new-ish song "Friends," featuring appearances from Kanye West and Bon Iver, directed by longtime collaborator, Jake Schreier.
Francis, theatrical-as-ever, dances against a plain white backdrop until spilling over and out of the set, returning to the assistance of Bon Iver, where the two move through a choreographed bit. It's a brilliantly minimalistic, but a mighty return for Francis & The Lights nonetheless. Watch as Francis, Kanye and Bon Iver move with grace in the new video for "Friends" down below.
