Get Out has made history yet again. The Jordan Peele-directed social thriller has earned over $200 million at the worldwide box office.

In a report from Deadline, Get Out has totaled up to $204.3 million, with $173.8 million being earned domestically and $30.5 million being earned internationally. Peele is now not only the first black writer-director to create a $100 million debut feature, but is now one of six black directors with a $200 million-grossing film.

As Black Film points out, the list of black directors with a $200 million-grossing film includes F. Gary Gray, Tim Story, Keenan Ivory Wayans, John Singleton, Clark Johnson, and now Peele.

Peele recently signed a two-year first-look overall deal with Universal, which just so happens to include the follow-up to his well-received 2017 social thriller film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal will allow Peele to write and direct new projects, as well as produce films through his Monkeypaw Productions banner. Peele is also adamant about giving opportunities for creators who are “traditionally under-represented in front and behind the camera, be it gender, race or sexual orientation,” through the deal. This goes in line with Peele's desire to work with young black horror filmmakers.

The report also revealed that Peele is already working on his next social thriller, with the budget being five times larger than the $5 million budget he worked with for Get Out.

"I am thrilled to continue the work we started together on Get Out—pushing the boundaries of storytelling, not only on the next film but with all of Monkeypaw's future projects," Peele said in a statement.
