Gorillaz To Make Live Return at Their Own 'Demon Dayz' Festival
Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, principal creatives behind Gorillaz, have been slowly, but surely resurrecting the animated band. Their Instagram account has gradually been populated with backstories for each member and a new single arrived a few months back with the assistance of Benjamin Clementine. Now the return moves from imminent to scheduled with the announcement of Demon Dayz, a day-long festival at the Dreamland amusement park in Margate, UK on June 10th, curated by Albarn and Hewlett, headlined by their cartoon creations.
For the group, the performance would mark their first live outing since 2010's Plastic Beach tour, and though the line-up has yet to be announced, tickets will go on-sale this Friday, March 10th. Little else is known of the festival, but chances are we'll be getting that official album announcement sooner than later. So far, confirmed collaborators include De La Soul and Snoop Dogg. Jump back to watch the video for their latest single, "Hallelujah Money," and stay tuned for more info on the Demon Dayz festival. It appears we'll be hearing (and seeing?) plenty more from Gorillaz in weeks and months ahead. Hit the link below for more information on the Demon Dayz festival.
