Lin-Manuel Miranda & The 'Hamilton' Cast Will Perform At The 2016 Grammys
Topping off an already monumental year, Lin-Manuel Miranda and the Hamilton cast will be amongst this year's performers at the 58th annual Grammys. They join Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and Adele as this year's musical guests, but for the Hamilton crew, it's a toast to their breakout, teaching history lessons through mean sixteens and nabbing a nomination for "Best Musical Theater Album" in the process for their cast recording, which was co-produced by our very own Questlove and Black Thought of the mighty Roots crew.
On top of all that, Miranda has graced the recording academy with an interview, in which he discusses the influence of mid-'90s hip-hop (Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, Biggie and the like) on his production, even referencing some of the gawds in the show. He even posits a fairly reasonable theory as to how and why we love the music that we love. You can watch Lin-Manuel Miranda's full interview below. For a glimpse at just what the Hamilton crew is working with, you can tune-in to the Grammys at 8PM EST on February 15th. Doesn't look like it's gonna be getting any easier to cop those tickets anytime soon...
