The Beastie Boys and friends celebrated the life and legacy of Adam "MCA" Yauch at MCA Day in Brooklyn this past May on the 1-year anniversary of his death. The crowning event of the day was the renaming of Brooklyn's Palmetto Playground to honor the fallen Beastie Boy. The New York State Senate drafted and presented a resolution just days later to honor the memory of Yauch, who was not just an ill MC but an agent of change. Still deeply impacted by the sudden loss, fans reconvened to take a group stroll through New York City yesterday to celebrate Adam Yauch's birthday; the walking tour stopped at landmarks specific to the Beastie Boys and allowed fans to continue to bond over their love for the fallen MC.
