Herbie Hancock, Earth, Wind & Fire + Run DMC To Receive Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards

Grammy buzz is in full-swing these days, just a month out from the ceremony's February 15th commencement. This year's nominees are a hefty bunch, including the 11x nominated Kendrick Lamar, the 3x nominated D'Angelo, as well as Alabama Shakes, Lianne La Havas, Hiatus Kaiyote, Leon Bridges, The Weeknd and so one and so forth.

But aside from the standard awards, the annual Lifetime Achievement Awards have long been something to behold (last year's recipients included The Bee Gees, Wayne Shorter and Buddy Guy amongst quite a few others.) This year's roster of lifetimers is certainly a special bunch, tagging jazz giant Herbie Hancock, funk fusion pioneers Earth, Wind & Fire, along with the legendary Run DMC and the many times over queen Ruth Brown. The Grammys will also honor Jefferson Airplane, Linda Rondstadt and Celia CruzAgain, The 58th Annual Grammys ceremony is slated for February 15th and will be aired on CBS at 8PM, so be sure to tune in for all of the festivities and subsequent shit-stirring.

Still, the real question is who will be tapped for the imminent heart-crusher that will be the ceremony's David Bowie tribute. There's certainly no shortage of options.
