One-by-one, Smith wades through stunned reflections as he learns (reminds himself?) of how their could potentially be seas of diamonds on Saturn and Jupiter, how sharks have had a longer stay on Earth than trees, the genetic similarities between humans and bananas, amongst other dazzling universal truths.
