Happy Birthday JB! James Brown Live At L'Olympia In Paris, 1971
On today, May 3rd, OKP celebrates the life of James Joseph Brown, Jr. We shouldn't have to explain why Mr. Brown was such an important figure in the history of music. One wouldn't need to look any further than the genres of hip-hop and drum-n-bass to see how his music not only revolutionized the world in the 60's and 70's but continued doing so during the 80's and up to this very moment.
In honor of this legend's birthday, we dug up this concert, filmed at L'Olympia in Paris in 1971. The show features Brown performing in front of a rag-tag group of young musicians dubbed the JB's which featured none other than a 20-year-old Bootsy Collins.
Are you ready for star time?!??!
