Artist Jamie Hewlett Confirms The Return Of Gorillaz

For those paying attention, a Gorillaz reanimation as been imminent. However, the news became all the more real when animator and artist of the genre-smashing ensemble of cartoon rhymesayers AKA Jamie Hewlett and his Instagram account made us privy to the fact that the furious foursome is slated to make a return even sooner than we had all once imagined. While there's been no word from Damon Albarn on that matter of the musical side of things since he also teased at a potential comeback run in an interview last year, Hewlett's IG account has proven to be all the verification we need, where a couple sketches of Murdoc and one of Noodle are all we need to get the salivation 'a churnin', but his response to a fan's inquiry is what gave this thing some legs. Gorillaz has been on hiatus since the release of 2011's The Fall, which was a fiercely feature-less effort announced as a free fanclub exclusive and featuring a shortlist of guest spots (one belonging to the legendary Bobby Womack). So there you have it little ones, your musical cartoon crusaders appears to be well on their way. Check out the sketches below.
