Jason Derulo talks ghostwriting, avoiding drama and the science behind his Talk Dirty LP in the latest edition of the Off The Record series from The Boombox. He also performs select tracks from the album live in-studio; Derulo's set list includes the LP's title track featuring 2Chainz and the Snoop Dogg assisted club banger "Wiggle." While Derulo's set closes with an explosive uptempo performance featuring full band and backup dancers, he begins with a solo interview that finds him explaining the project and its significance in his life. He also talks about the differences between writing for hip-hop artists and working on his own project - a collection of pop tracks driven by his love for showmanship and some of the major live acts at the epicenter of the craft. Derulo cites Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Usher and Beyonce as key influences. His performance, if nothing else, is a reflection of their respective approaches to the stage.
