Jason Goldwatch Asks Artists To Interview Themselves On 'Time Alone' [Trailer]

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

Jason Goldwatch is a videographer/photographer/molder of culture. His work can be seen through the droves of videos he's shot and help to produce; most notably for artists likeThe Roots, Jay Electronica, Action Bronson, Kid Cudi, 88 Keys, Common, Dilated Peoples and most recently Schoolboy Q. With such a vast portfolio of visual taste-making and ear-flipping, Goldwatch has decided to point his lens in a different direction, attempting to redefine the journalistic process and platform. In a new online series entitledTime Alone,Goldwatch will pit artists like Bun B, Del The Funky Homosapien and Michael Rapaport against their most vehement critics; themselves of course. Since the concept itself is a bit complicated, perhaps it would be better if the show's host explained it himself:

"Basically, the idea is to get questions out of an interview subject that only they would know about, and/or would have the gall to ask themselves. I draw out these far-left questions mostly from them with magic and motive then we flip chairs. I then ask them their own answers, which were the previous questions. I know, I know, but the questions they ask themselves they answer back, thereby interviewing themselves as no one ever could."

So in a sense, he tricks his guests into asking --and in turn answering-- questions that only they could possibly have insight on. Confused? We are too. However, if there is one thing that is certain, it's that there has never been a platform like the one Goldwatch is embarking upon. Time Alone premieres tomorrow and will drop a new installment every Thursday,so keep it locked as we'll have plenty more from Jason Goldwatch's and his unconventional journalistic endeavor soon.
