As the 40-day deadline for his debut album approaches, Jay Electronica has shared a cryptic sound clip that may offer a taste of what's to come with the highly-anticipated project.

The 45-second clip features a song by Black Brazilian singer Wilson Simonal titled "Nana," and is accompanied by a picture of someone (presumably Jay) in the studio. The rapper shared the clip on Twitter and Instagram, with the latter post offering a brief caption and including the handles for Roc Nation, producer Young Guru, and actor Jesse Williams.
Last month, Jay announced that he would be releasing his debut album, A Written Testimony, in 40 days (which would be on Wednesday, March 18). The album was recorded over a 40-day, 40-night stretch starting on December 26, and will feature Jay-Z, who signed Electronica to Roc Nation back in 2010.
Over the decade, Jay has released a bunch of loosies and collaborated with a number of artists, from Kendrick Lamar to JAY-Z. But no official album or follow up to his classic Act I: Eternal Sunshine (The Pledge) tape. Most fans seemed to concede that the album would never come, but hopefully this teaser means it's coming soon.
