Jay Rock & Kendrick Lamar Collide On "Pay For It"
TDE's original duo of mic-slayers Jay Rock and Kendrick Lamar link once more on the all too tuff new cut "Pay For It." Don't be fooled by that opening hook, what follows is a barrage of verbal athleticism over tender string arrangements, piano loops and a drum program that shifts from playful and light to rugged and raw before you even catch wind of it. This epic new joint comes as a rather quick follow-up to the G-Funk revival we thought Jay was conducting with his last offering "Parental Advisory," which dropped just a few weeks back, but it seems we might very well be heading towards another ground-shaking release from his camp.
It seems that after a fair share of wishful thinking, Jay Rock's forthcoming project might very well be the sixth and final release from the Top Dawg crew this year and by the way things are sounding thus far, I can't say that any of us should be disappointed. There's no official title or release date for that project, but TDE has never been one to prep us all that well, so the drop could just as well fall out of the sky any day now.
