Jazmine Sullivan Details New 'Reality Show' LP
Jazmine Sullivan sat down with Billboard to discuss her recent hiatus from music and detail the creation of her third album and comeback piece Reality Show. First she delved into the nature of her 4-year break from the industry, explaining :
"I promised myself when it wasn't fun anymore I wouldn't do it. And, here I am. I'm not saying I won't ever sing again in my life because I don't believe that. But in this moment… right now… [I] got some things to figure out."
Which just goes to show you that a little R&R goes a long way, as she now insists:
"I've got to the point where I can say, 'This is me. Take it or leave it,"
While last week's "Dumb" offering shows the powerful soulstress in a more disdainful light, she insists that even though her fans know her by those angry ballads, they aren't the only things she's capable of. Reality Show will mark the first record in which Sullivan doesn't connect with production sage Missy Elliot, however Salaam Remi, Da Internz, Key Wane and more will be at the helm. The follow-up to 2010's Love Me Back is reportedly complete, but still not stamped with a release date. So you'll just have to check back next week when the title-track drops.
