Jazmine Sullivan Dazzles In The Left-Field w/ Swaggering New Single "Mascara"

Jazmine Sullivan Dazzles In The Left-Field w/ Smooth New Single "Mascara"

Jazmine Sullivan drops off another crucial cut with the unveiling of her latest single "Mascara" off the forthcoming Reality Show LP. The Philly-bred vocalists takes a marked step into the left-of-center realm of r&b, delivering a swaggering sonic treatment that's drenched in the subterranean synth touches and slow-burning knock we've come to associate with Frank Ocean or Miguel. And Sullivan certainly has the chops to keep up, so we certainly aren't mad. I'd even say that this confident romp through contemporary r&b schemes bodes pretty damn well for the soulstress, whose long earned her stripes as an honorary member of the mighty Roots crew. "Mascara" comes as a follow-up to the finely-tuned balladry of "Forever Don't Last," a live take of "Stupid Girls" in a New Orleans barbershop and a biographical trailer for the new album, all of which have dropped in the past few months. Reality Show is hitting physical and digital shelves January 13th with preorders available on Amazon today. Peep Jazmine Sullivan's latest offering "Mascara" below and keep it locked for some new sights and sounds in the weeks to come.
