Jean Grae Switches It Up On New '#5' EP

Jean Grae Keeps Fans On Their Toes With The Release Of Her New '#5' EP - A Project That Finds Her Switching Lanes To Drop A Short Collection Of Grown Folks Jams.

Having made quite a name for herself as a ridiculously prolific MC and performance artist, Jean Grae switches lanes with the release of her new #5 EP - the bodyroll inducing project which arrived on Sunday. Keeping fans on their toes, the short collection of jams finds Jean Grae serving up her own take on grown folks music. Singing and and sometimes rapping her way through an emotionally-charged and slightly quirky set of tracks, she makes her first foray into the realm of r&b with a solid project that packs a seductive punch and does not compromise the distinct personality or lyrical presence fans have come to expect. As if that weren't enough, the #5 EP was completed in just three days. Jean Grae delivers this project with a note on the creative process:

This is #5. I felt like doing something else. So I did. I really enjoy song crafting. The producing, the recording, the writing, the mixing, the everything. It's short, but grown. Love ya.

Check the tracks below to stream the #5 EP. Purchase the project via Bandcamp. Stay tuned for more from Jean Grae. Word is, she's just getting started.
