Jesse Boykins III- "Amen Awoman" (prod. by MeLo- X)
Jesse Boykins III drops some lo-fi silk with "Amen Awoman" produced by Brooklyn's own MeLo-X. It's JB3's tender, yet unconventional layered croon over an 8-bit synth-scape provided by MeLo-X in a lilt that builds to a bouncy peak, and its all for the love y'all. Like James Blake meets The Internet. As Boykins explained to Mass Appeal:
“I wrote it to acknowledge the beauty of a relationship between two lovers. In appreciation of the woman and all she brings to this earth.”
Its just a little Valentine's Day love from the enigmatic BK figure, but we're bracing ourselves for the release of his tentatively titled Love Apparatus LP. You can stream "Amen Awoman" below, but NYC lovers can catch the mad-crooner over at Webster Hall this Friday for Lover's Day. We'll have more on the Love Apparatus LP soon. Head over to MA for your chance to win tickets for you and your lucky other.
