Jessie Ware - "Tough Love" (Sango Remix) + LP Announcement
Jessie Ware's delicate left-field offering "Tough Love" just got flipped by the great innovator of trap Sango and it's too on-point not to give shine. Though the OG version (which premiered over at FADER) of this melancholic pop-tinged joint bears all the earmarks of the greats (it even throws in a bit of The Purple One's Lynn drum action on the sneak) Sango's rendition strips the track of its ethereal, submerged synth work and introduces the blood of this thing to some new trap-laced bones. Much to our delight, this darker, contemplative treatment makes "Tough Love" sounds as dreary and somber as it can often be.
For those unaware, The UK songstress has been in the cut of some of OKP's favorite work of the last few years, including tracks with SBTRKT, Sampha, Disclosure, Mayer Hawthorne and a slew of others. Now its time for her own work to get some features, as FADER reports that Dev Hynes, Miguel and Ed Sheeran will all be making appearances, with the bulk of the production being handled by BenZel (AKA Bennie Blanco and Two Inch Punch.) Jessie Ware's Tough Love LP has yet to receive an official release, but you can be sure we'll have the latest as details come forth. In the meantime, peep Sango's flip of the title track "Tough Love" below.
