Jill Scott Catches The Deep Blues In A Video For Her Intoxicating New Single "You Don't Know"
Jill Scottmakes a welcome return to the world of music, unleashing a drunkenly delicious clip for her blues & whiskey soaked new single "You Don't Know," presumably off a forthcoming, yet to be named album. The clip finds Jilly From Philly, in a dim-lit bar, wailing her intoxicatingly deep blues ballad front and center as her star-studded band (including our very own Questlove on the kit, bass man extraordinaire Adam Blackstone and more) providing perfect accompaniment. The track marks what seems to be a new vocal angle for Miss Scott, whose jazzy inflections have long stood as the backbone for her particular style of vox, opting instead for a more sultry, straightforward approach that is wholly fitting of the queen. While we can't exactly speak for when we can expect to see the new piece, but if the roll-out is anything like what we've been treated to by the likes of her fellow neo-soul luminary D'Angelo, her first album in nearly 4 years could just drop out of the thin blue.
