Jimmy Fallon stepped out to lead The Roots crew as a proper sub for the phone-bombing rock icons known as U2, performing their '97 hit "Desire" live on The Tonight Show. While the Irish rockers were originally slated to be this week's sole performers on the late-night program with a 5 day residency in support of the new album, a bike accident requiring Bono to undergo surgery put the breaks on their Tonight Show takeover. But I think you'll find this version (with Fallon garbed in the frontman's hallmark rose-red lenses and newsboy cap) to be more than palatable. Watch Jimmy Fallon and The Roots deliver a spot-on (dare I say better) rendition of U2's "Desire" live on The Tonight Show and stay tuned for coverage from the rest of the week's performances.
