Joey Badass Talks Brooklyn Identity & Hip-Hop Feuds On Hot 97

Last night Joey Badass took control of New York's Central Park with his Steez Day festival/Prow Era-blowout show, but hours before he took the stage the young Brooklyn MC stopped by the Hot 97 studios to sort a few things out. Firstly, the perceived animosity between himself and fellow rising New York rapper Troy Ave, which recently bubbled over into a series of tweets that had both musicians debating the true meaning of what it means to be "independent." Badass was quick to put the rap beef rumors to bed, however, admitting that he felt as if the whole world forgot about him, but even in his own work to reclaim a little (deserved) spotlight he sought no trouble with Troy. "It's really hard to have beef with me," Joey said. "You gotta really disrespect me."

From the conversation hit more congenial terms, with both Ebro and Peter Rosenberg chatting Joey Badass up about the rising stars amongst his Pro Era clique and how he sees himself as a Brooklyn MC to the core. Watch the full interview before and check out Badass's full tour schedule below.
