Ice Cube Got the "Green Light" for a New 'Friday' Movie According to John Witherspoon
For years, fans have been clamoring for a new Friday movie. Ice Cube has hinted about making another one for years but has mostly kept himself busy by launching other movie franchises.
With that being said...could we be closer than we all think to a new Friday movie? John Witherspoon, better known as Pops, says so.
He was a guest on The Power 95.3's GetUpCrew in Orlando when he dropped the good news fans of the series have been waiting 15 years to hear: a new Friday movie has just received the “green light.”
More specifically, he said:
“I was at the airport and I saw Ice Cube. Cube said they gonna do another Friday. He said he wants to meet with me last week–this week, but he couldn’t make it, but we’re going to meet next week to get things together...there's a new guy at Warner Bros. Thank God!”
There have been three Friday movies. However, the last one, Friday After Next, came out in 2002, so it's been a while. But it's clear that there is still demand there.
Someone call up Ice Cube to confirm this.
