Kanye West's "New Slaves" Screening Cancelled In Houston
Screenings of Kanye West's "New Slaves" were cancelled this past week in Houston. The video installation has been projected on buildings across the globe recently as fans prepare for the release of Kanye's forthcoming LP. The projections began on May 17th and hit 66 locations across the globe. Anticipation for the project has grown as a result of the massive broadcasts, which were given an extra bump by Kanye's recent performance of "New Slaves" on Saturday Night Live. The cancellations in Houston were not attributed to an unruly crowd or any other disturbance involving fans, but the crowds that gathered to see the projection at three Houston locations were still dispersed by local police. Reports suggest the cancellations were due to a lack of proper permits for the event. Kanye West's new LP Yeezus is slated to drop on June 18th. Keep an eye out for more Kanye West.
