Kathy Griffin Apologies For Graphic Donald Trump Photo Shoot

Comics don't often apologize for one of their jokes.
But moments ago, comedian Kathy Griffin apologized for the image you see above: a photo of her holding a bloody President Donald Trump head.
The photo, which was taken by Tyler Shields, was first published by TMZ. The minute it was published, those from the left and the right completely savaged the picture, including influential voices like Chelsea Clinton.
\u201cThis is vile and wrong. It is never funny to joke about killing a president. https://t.co/zIiuKoMyFw\u201d— Chelsea Clinton (@Chelsea Clinton) 1496178080
Here was Griffin's apology:
While Griffin was apologetic, the photographer, Shields, didn't seem as contrite. Speaking to Fox News, Sheilds said:
"That's what art is meant to do...Some people look at it and they love it. Some people look at it and they hate it... I understand there are going to be people that hate this. It's a very touchy subject... but this is not real. We didn't kill anybody nor do I feel anybody should be killed. It's no different from a movie. It just happens to be a still image."
We can probably all agree that there's a good way and a bad way to critique our current president.
