RIAA Finally Includes Streaming In Certification Criteria, Kendrick Lamar & Big Sean Go Platinum
Well, dear friends, it is indeed a joyous day, as Kendrick Lamar, Big Sean, Wale and plenty of others have received a sizable bump in their RIAA certifications following the long overdue inclusion of streaming numbers into certification criteria. Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly and Sean's Dark Sky Paradise have both now, finally, hit the platinum mark, while The Weeknd's Beauty Behind The Madness hit double-platinum and Michael Jackson's Thriller, already the only album to ever go thirty-times platinum, has gone up to thirty-two-times platinum.
According to the new system, 150 streams of any song is equivalent to 1 singles sale. You can peep the full list of artists who've been effected by the stream inclusion below.
