Kendrick Lamar Nominated for 14 BET Hip Hop Awards
Kendrick Lamar may not be the king of New York, but he sure is crushing it these days. K. Dot has gained the most nominations in the BET Hip Hip Awards. Speaking on his 14 nominations, Kendrick said
"The highlight for me is really going around the world and watching these people enjoy my music. I think the hardest thing for an artist to do from jump is to get one person to listen to your music, so to come from that, come from my neighborhood listening, to come from my city listening, to my state and LA listening, and going around the world, that's a beautiful thing."
He is up for Best Hip Hop Video and Lyricist of The Year, among many other categories. Drake follows his lead with 13 nominations and J. Cole is right behind with 10. I'm a little confused as to why Nas's Life is Good is up for Album of The Year. It's also nice to see young Chance The Rapper up for Mixtape of The Year with his excellent Acid Rap. Snoop Dogg is going to be hosting the event, taking place on October 13th. Check out some of the award nominees below:
