Kendrick Lamar Speaks At Length About His "Control" Verse w/ Rosenberg

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

After about 50-11 response records, and everyone and their momma releasing a video with their interpretation of/feelings on "the verse," we finally get the one opinion anyone actually cares about. Earlier this morning, Kendrick Lamar broke his silence and had a 20 minute discussion with Peter Rosenberg on Hot 97's morning show about the most talked about bars of 2013. K.Dot talks about the umpteen response records (and names his favorite ones), his intent behind the verse, when he realized how impactful his words were, explains in detail why he called himself the king of New York, any potential East Coast vs. West Coast nonsense, and much much more. If you take the time to listen to his explanation and reasoning, I can't really see how anyone from NY (or anyone who's name was dropped) would take offense. At risk of him being further misinterpreted, I'll leave it there, and suggest you sit down and listen to the words from the man himself, below.
