Rounding out a legendary year, Kendrick Lamar graced the Texan music melee known Austin City Limits with a high-powered performance of selections from his critical darling, To Pimp A Butterfly. The performance was previewed in short a month back with an electric segment of the conquer-all anthem of the year, "Alright." Today, in the build-up to the full show's airing on PBS, two more clips from the performance have been relinquished, featuring fiery live enactments of two of the album's many treasures, specifically, the George Clinton, Thundercat & Flying Lotus-assisted album opener "Wesley's Theory" and this particular writer's favorite TPAB cut, "Hood Politics."
Here's the perfect opportunity to witness what you might have missed during K Dot's intimate Kunta's Groove Sessions tour and certainly a warm-up for whatever he's cooking up for his Tonight Show appearance this evening.
