Premiere: Kenneth Whalum & Big K.R.I.T. Address Police Brutality on "Might Not Be Ok"

Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Lauryn Hill, Lion Babe, Thundercat, SZA & More Rock The Afropunk Festival 2015 in Brooklyn, NY.

With this morning’s OKP Premiere, we check in with First Look Friday alum, Kenneth Whalum. Over the year’s Whalum has carved a lane for himself as a composer, saxophonist, and touring musician for the likes of Maxwell, D’Angelo, Robert Glasper, and many more.

Whalum is now looking to focus his many talents on his own career as a solo artist. To get the ball rolling, Whalum premieres this powerful new single “Might Not Be Ok” with the help of Big K.R.I.T. The piano-laden track has Whalum and K.R.I.T. attacking the issue of police brutality. The song has both artists beautifully emoting as Kenneth’s smooth vocals are juxtaposed by K.R.I.T.’s fiery verse on the current state of affairs in the black community. Listen to the collaboration below, and expect more from Kenneth soon.
