Pass The Popcorn: Key & Peele Are Gearing Up For A New Stop-Motion Film

Pass The Popcorn: Key And Peele Get The Green Light On Their First Joint Film 'Keanu'

The comedy powerhouse duo known as Key & Peele (also known as Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) will be getting to work on a new stop-motion film project, collaborating with director Henry Selick. It's been dubbed Wendell and Wild, and in an interview with Variety, Selick described the project as "a comedy about two scheming demon brothers who must face their arch-nemesis, the demon-dusting nun Sister Helly, and her two acolytes, the goth teens Kat and Raoul."

Selick's resume includes iconic stop-motion films including The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline, while Key & Peele's respective comedy exploits are certainly no secret, from their early days on MADtv to the modern classic that is the East vs. West College Bowl. Key will also be voicing a character in the upcoming Angry Birds animated film, and both he and Peele have performed parts on Fox's cult hit Bob's Burgers. Variety reports that Selick will both direct and produce Wendell and Wild, and will be co-writing the feature alongside Peele.

Additional details are scarce (Key & Peele's manager Joel Zadak told Variety, "It is not set up yet with a buyer, but the entire team is passionate about the direction.") but as more of Wendell and Wild takes shape, we'll be sure to keep you up to speed.
