Lin-Manuel Miranda Claims Immortal Technique Was His High School Bully

“He terrorized kids, he threw them in the garbage. I got thrown in the garbage by him.”

Well before they were the critical darlings of hip-hop, Immortal Technique and Lin-Manuel Miranda were brushing shoulders in Hunter College High in Manhattan's Upper East Side. But according Marc Maron's recent interview with Hamilton star on his WTF podcast, there wasn't exactly an ideal dynamic between him and Tech.

He explained that Technique, who's long repped Harlem as his stoping grounds, would terrorize kids and throw them in garbage cans, including himself. He goes on to describe how IT got a role in the school play, exclaiming: "Oh my god, I’m in a fucking play with the dude that scares the shit out of all my friends!" Realistically this is all water under the proverbial bridge by now, but it's interesting to see how they've traversed their respective paths of rhythm; IT channelling his teen angst into political barbs and horror bars (ie "Dance With The Devil",) Miranda doing so from a more historical perspective with the blockbuster play that he wrote, directed and starred in.

And while we can't say what Immortal Technique's up to these days, Lin-Manuel Miranda's getting ready to release his Hamilton Mixtape on December 2nd, featuring The Roots, Chance The Rapper, Francis and The Lights, Busta Rhymes, Usher and so many more. Pre-orders are underway now via iTunes. Follow the link below to hear Miranda's chat with Marc Maron.
