Little Simz Age 101 Drop 4 EP Cover Art
British-born MC Little Simz has fired another sonic shot across the bow, this time releaseing the fourth installment in her Age 101 EP series. Rightly labeled Age 101: Drop 4, the record is reportedly the final foretaste before her new full-length record arrives, but oh what an appetizer it is. Simz raps over beats that lean on synthesized, half-punch-drunk progressions and charts a lyrical course that's half aggressive, half introspective and wholly satisfying. One gets the image of a trip through the seedier sides of London, away from the bright lights and closer to real life.
Little Simz posted the entire EP to her Soundcloud page late Thursday night (UK time) and has also made it available for free download. She had this to say about Age 101: Drop 4:
Well here we go again. Welcome to the fourth instalment to the Age 101 EP Series.I cant lie, I struggle a bit when explaining the drops because as cliché as it sounds, its all in the music.
But this one is a prelude to my debut LP (which I finished yesterday) and my favourite drop so far. Make sure you take time to take it all in.
I appreciate and am thankful for those who support me on my journey, and enjoy bringing you new music, sorry i took long with this one, but live with it and and enjoy it.
