Lupe Fiasco & Amar'e Stoudemire Sign On To Executive Produce AAU Basketball Doc 'Little Ballers'
Lupe Fiasco and Knicks power forward Amar'e Stoudemire will be gracing the upcoming AAU Basketball documentary Little Ballers with some added direction, signing on to executive produce the film. The 80-minute doc promises to focus on the lives of four hoop-dreaming adolescents in NYC's Amateur Athletic Union, chronicling their rise with added commentary from Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, Steve Nash, Joakim Noah and a laundry list of other top-tier players and journalists. Unfortunately, we've yet to get word on what aspect of pre-adolescent competition the doc will shine its light on, but you won't have to wait much longer to find out, as Little Ballers premieres on Nicktoons November 26th. Watch a quick teaser featuring Kobe Bryant sonning a group of kids in a free-throw contest and a word from Stoudemire on his involvement with the project below.
“I wanted to executive produce Little Ballers because I once was a little baller,” said Stoudemire. “It made a major impact on my life, helped me to become a better man and a better leader. Youth sports are very important for children — there are so many lessons to learn that impacts their lives forever. Sports help build character, discipline and teamwork, which are all important aspects for the future.”
