Lupe Fiasco has since reacted to Royce's comments.

In January, Lupe Fiasco voiced his want to take up Joe Budden's spot in Slaughterhouse, despite the rap group disbanding in 2018 following Budden's retirement and KXNG Crooked’s departure from the group. Now, Royce Da 5'9" has offered his own thoughts on the matter.

Speaking with HipHopDX, Royce is asked how he would feel about Fiasco being Budden's replacement in Slaughterhouse, to which he responded: "It'll never happen."

"Nobody will ever replace Joe. Nobody can replace anybody from Slaughterhouse," he said. "If Lupe were to take Joe's spot and it'd be me, Lupe, Joell and Crook, it would just be a different group. It wouldn't be Slaughterhouse."

"And that's certainly not taking anything from Lupe," Royce continued. "If anything, that's elevating Lupe to where he should be. He's no group replacement guy. He's great. He's not just an MC, he's a master. So it takes on a completely different form because you have somebody whose personality traits [are] something totally different, has completely different characteristics outside of the booth, and that's not a replacement to Joe. That's something completely different. They're two totally different kinds of rappers and people. So that's not a swap."

Fiasco has since reacted to Royce's comments, tweeting out the following accompanied by the Crying Jordan meme: "Man y’all...@Royceda59 eloquently said hell to the nah to my request to replace @JoeBudden in slaughterhouse..."

In related news, Royce recently released his eighth solo albumThe Allegory.
